The Sedimentology Division is working in the fields of sedimentological and geochemical attributes of Precambrian clastic and associated volcanic successions, Proterozoic and Palaeozoic glacial and carbonate sedimentology, depositional environment and carbon isotope chemostratigraphy, Cretaceous-Tertiary sedimentation, paleoenvironment, global paleoclimate, cosmic events and chemostratigraphy. Under the Tectonic-Climate theme, Cenozoic fluvial deposits, Late Quaternary deposits of Dun Valley, Sub Himalaya, Alaknanda Valley and Holocene speleothems from NW and NE Himalaya are currently being studied.
